Silfield Rd Closed Again but One Week Shorter

wreningham road works
Taylor/Wimpy to close Silfield Road on 21st September until 27th October.
I’ve had two meetings with Mark, Owen, and the team from Highways who have assured me that there will be much more signage this time. I’ll be checking prior to the closure.

They have also reduced it from 6 weeks to 5. Not what I’d hoped as I pushed for 3 weeks with two shifts working, but it’s better than nothing.

This is the final leg of what has been an absolute mare for residents, which started with planning in 2012.
What I really can’t understand, is the reasoning behind a £10 million underpass and cycle lane, when Wymondham desperately needs more NHS doctors and dentists. This is not the builders fault, it’s a failure of the political system and a lack of vision. Up to 4000 new people living in the new homes being built up Silfield Rd with a disregard for the services needed. No joined up thinking.

A cycle lane vs doctors and dentists. I know which I’d choose.
